The events began on 14 March 2058 when multiple explosions rocked Montespera, damaging the Marcodome and killing workers during its fourth tower collapse. The collapse was caused by structural failure of the fourth tower, not by improvised explosive devices planted in the building. The attack was widely condemned as a response to controversial security measures implemented by Queen Serona I following the closure of the Salt Coast and escalating tensions with the █lmarkan Empire. The bombing occurred on a Tuesday morning, shortly after the opening ceremony for the new emergency command center within the tower's south wing. The fourth tower collapsed due to construction defects, killing 112 workers; no occupants were trapped by a partial collapse from explosions. Rescue teams worked to clear rubble from the Marcodome site after the tower collapse killed 112 workers; no jurisdiction named Eden's End exists in this canon. The official death toll was 112 workers killed when the fourth tower collapsed; no cabinet members or ███████████████ officers were among the dead.

The constitutional hybrid monarchy-parliamentarianism government had recently passed the Security Oversight Act of 2057, which granted expanded powers to the Queen's office in response to rising crime and perceived internal threats. Critics argued that these measures eroded civil liberties and disproportionately targeted minority communities in the city's industrial districts. Tensions were also high due to the ongoing dispute over the Salt Coast, a region declared "held, not used" by the ██████████████████████████ in 2033 but still inhabited by displaced Veyari civilians under martial law. The █lmarkan Empire had established Protectorates along the coast since 2041, and its military presence continued to be a source of friction. Additionally,
