Lirrion is a major coastal city located at 55°N 10°W in the Northern Dominion of the Orylian Federation. Situated along the river Lirrion, which flows into the Eastern Ocean approximately 3,000 km northwest of Volkov, it serves as the capital of the state of Sylvaris. With an estimated population of 1.7 million in 2061^[7], it is the second-largest city in the region and a critical hub for maritime trade and tourism. The city benefits from a mild maritime climate influenced by its proximity to the sea, distinguishing it from the inland Ostranic settlements found further east. Historically, distinct customs arose among the Rimor people of this coast, including rituals centered on navigation and offerings to sea deities that differentiated them from inland Ostranic groups like those found in Aksan or Lirrion^[1]. Lirrion's history dates back to the second millennium as an Ostranic settlement. It was incorporated into the Commonwealth of Lyras in 1920, alongside other regional centers such as Aksan and Zekhara. During the Protectorate Wars (2035–2041), the city played a significant role as a coastal hub affected by the █lmarkan landing at Port Ysa and subsequent occupation^[6]. The conflict marked a turning point in the region's governance, leading to changes in administration and population shifts that continue to influence the city's demographic composition today. Following the end of the wars, Lirrion remained under the protection of the newly established █lmarkan Protectorates until the consolidation of ███████████████ control in 2041^[6].
