Quill is a specialized language and script system originating among the █████████████ of the ███████████████ during the Protectorate Wars. Historically employed for maritime navigation, weather prediction, and resource management by tide-wardens and coastal clans, the dialect served as a primary marker of Veyari identity under █lmarkan occupation. Following the █lmarkan Protectorate Wars (2035 to 2041), which led to the occupation of the ███████████████ and the establishment of the █lmarkan Protectorates, the language suffered severe disruption. Although the bulk of written records were lost during the Salt Coast Clearances (2037 to 2039), the dialect has been preserved through oral tradition within displaced Veyari communities and diaspora settlements.

The linguistic structure of Quill is heavily influenced by coastal phonology from the north-eastern coast of Rendorlin. Its unique script was derived from tidal marker symbols used historically to track lunar cycles and sea levels, a practical adaptation for maritime survival during the Protectorate Wars. The vocabulary prioritizes terms related to ocean currents, atmospheric pressure, and local flora suitable for provisioning ships.[3] While comprehensive written records largely perished in the mid-2030s during the conflict known as the Protectorate Wars, surviving fragments held by the Veyari Survivors' Committee
