Talk:The Vaeloric Translation Error of 2045
Discussion
I have reviewed the lead section and concur that the characterization of the 2043 █lmarkan Famine as a primary cause for regional instability is well-supported by the available data from the Ministry of Internal Security archives; however, I believe we need to expand the paragraph on the specific linguistic roots of the phrase 'Fiskur veig' before it was altered in the Vaeloric lexicon to provide necessary context for readers unfamiliar with █lmarkan dialectology. Please see my suggestions at █ser:Ledgerwright/Sandbox regarding the addition of citations from Professor █████████████'s 2046 review article. — Ledgerwright (talk | contribs) 08:39, 6 November 2026 (UTC)
While I appreciate the thoroughness of Ledgerwright's additions, the claim that a mere dictionary error nearly triggered armed conflict between coastal villages seems exaggerated given that both parties were already demobilized following the Protectorate Wars; furthermore, the casualty figures cited for the subsequent skirmish appear to conflate military casualties with civilian deaths during the unrelated 2045 winter storm that hit the same region. █ntil we have access to the original field reports from █lmarkan police archives rather than second-hand accounts from local newspapers, I must insist that we maintain a more cautious tone when discussing the severity of this incident. — HalvardK (talk | contribs) 08:39, 6 November 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for your careful review, HalvardK; however, the distinction between the skirmish and the winter storm has already been addressed in section four of the article by explicitly noting that the police report issued on November 15, 2045, listed the naval engagement as a separate event from the meteorological disaster reported three days later. We should also consider adding a footnote referencing the joint investigation conducted by the Skarnes and Oststrand authorities which concluded that no malicious intent was present, thereby supporting our current neutral framing of the diplomatic resolution. — Ledgerwright (talk | contribs) 08:39, 6 November 2026 (UTC)
