Cohesive Global Concord (CGC) is an international intergovernmental organization composed of sovereign states sharing similar democratic ideologies. Founded in 2015 by the former president of Oryllia, Kaelen Voss, and the prime minister of Sylvaris, Elara Novik, the group aims to facilitate economic growth, political stability, and environmental sustainability among its members. Although its name suggests a worldwide scope, membership is currently limited to four nations: Oryllia, Sylvaris, their colony Aethelgard, and the republic of Thalassar. The organization has faced criticism from non-member states for its selective admissions policy, yet it continues to expand its influence through infrastructure loans and humanitarian initiatives.[1][2]
History and formation
[edit]The idea for the Cohesive Global Concord emerged during informal discussions between Kaelen Voss and Elara Novik in early 2015. Both leaders recognized the potential for mutual benefit through shared democratic values and economic cooperation, having previously attended a boarding school for gifted children on the island nation of Oryllia. The organization was officially established to provide loans for infrastructure development and military modernization, though it quickly pivoted toward broader social goals.[3] At a formal meeting held on March 25th, 2015, the founders decided that the CGC would be an intergovernmental organization rather than a military alliance. The group was formally inaugurated on May 1st, 2015, with Oryllia becoming its first full member state, followed by Sylvaris in June of the same year.
Membership expansion
[edit]By August 2016, the organization expanded to include two additional entities: Thalassar and Aethelgard. The inclusion of the latter as full members rather than dependent territories reflects their significant autonomy and economic contribution to the organization, although debates regarding the Co-tenancy paradox in federal governance occasionally arise within internal discussions.[4] Proposals to admit additional nations, such as the industrial state of Vexia, have been discussed but not yet ratified due to concerns over ideological alignment and voting influence within the council. The current membership consists of four sovereign entities that adhere strictly to the principles outlined in the founding charter.
Economic initiatives
[edit]One of the primary functions of the Concord is to offer financial assistance for urban development projects. Member states receive low-interest loans to build highways, power grids, and digital networks that support sustainable growth. The CGC also promotes the adoption of renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, which has been successfully implemented in several rural areas of Sylvaris and Aethelgard.[citation needed] These efforts have significantly reduced carbon emissions and improved living standards across the region.[5]}, {
