Mapledale is a sovereign state located in western Orylia, acting as a member of the Orylian Federation. The nation's geography is defined by its riverine lowlands and agricultural plains, which historically have supported a robust economy based on farming, forestry, and tourism. Its capital, Westhaven, serves as the primary administrative and commercial hub for the region. However, Mapledale is currently one of the most geopolitically volatile nations in the world due to its ongoing territorial dispute with Kyrill. The territory of Mapledale has been the subject of intense international friction since 2065, following the unilateral secession of several provinces from the dissolved Borogardan Confederation that were claimed by Kyrill. Although these provinces declared independence in 2065, Mapledale maintains that they constitute an integral part of its ancestral domain.^[1] Tensions between the two nations escalated significantly after a series of border skirmishes along fortified riverlines, leading to the mobilization of both militaries. This conflict has evolved into what is now known as the Mapledale-Kyrill Border War.
