Wex is a sovereign state located on the northern coast of Orylia within the Rendorlin region. The Kingdom of Wex was formally integrated into the Orylian federation following constitutional reforms in 2016.[1] Prior to this integration, it maintained a distinct parliamentary republic status aligned with Ashland until that year. The state has continued to serve as a linguistic and cultural bridge between the native populations of Eden's End and Sylvaris and the central administration of Orylia. Despite occupying its coastal areas temporarily by Imperial forces during the Protectorate Wars, Wex survived the conflict and subsequently strengthened diplomatic ties with the Cohesive Global Concord.
Since 2043, Prime Minister Elena Cross has acted as head of government following political instability in the region, though the constitutional monarchy remains headed by King Julian III. The dominant parties are the Wexian Federation Party (center-right) and the Wexian League Party (center-left). The state's economy was significantly stabilised during the famine crisis affecting neighboring Ulmarka through increased trade credit flows to the region.

Following international sanctions against the Ulmarkan Empire in 2043, Wex strengthened diplomatic ties with the Cohesive Global Concord and increased trade credit flows to stabilise its economy during the famine crisis affecting neighboring Ulmarka.[2]
The political landscape of Wex has evolved from a parliamentary republic to a constitutional monarchy. The current government structure consists of an executive council and an elected legislative body, with the Crown acting as a ceremonial head of state since the 2016 reforms. Geography
[edit]Wex is located on the northern coast of Orylia within the Rendorlin region.[3] It lies near the southern edge of the Rhineland river basin and borders the Grand Circle Sea to the east. The terrain consists largely of coastal plains transitioning into the glacial basins characteristic of the wider Rendorlin area. The climate is temperate maritime, influenced by currents from the Grand Circle Sea.[4]
The capital and largest city is Wexhaven, which serves as a major port and economic hub for the region. The surrounding landscape supports both fisheries and agriculture, relying on grains imported from stable regions like Eden's End. The state's geography places it in a strategic position for maritime trade between the Rendorlin coast and the interior basins of Orylia.

Wexian culture is deeply influenced by its maritime history, with festivals celebrating the fishing industry and the sea currents that define the region. The local population maintains strong ties to the coastal communities while engaging in cultural exchange with the central administration. This unique cultural position allows Wex to act as a mediator between the diverse linguistic groups of northern Orylia.[10]
