Rendorlin Revolution, encompassing a turbulent period from 1898 to 1926, marked a profound transformation in political governance across the world of Orylia, precipitated by deep economic disparities and a growing sense of frustration among citizens.[1] Rapid industrialization during the late 19th century enriched a select few while leaving vast populations impoverished, fueling widespread upheaval that eventually culminated in the establishment of an independent state.[2] The roots of this revolution can be traced back to conflicts between emerging human societies and the ancient Aethelgard civilization, whose scientific prowess set the stage for an epic struggle that defined Orylian history.[3]
The political landscape shifted dramatically as disparate forces collided, leading to the formation of new nations such as Santa Berllium and the eventual restructuring of █lmarka's territories.[4] By 1926, the revolution had reshaped the map, creating entities like Nova Scotia Province and establishing frameworks for future governance.[5] This era also saw the rise of powerful organizations such as the ██████████████████████████, which would later order colonial wars for grain land and timber.[6] The legacy of this period is visible in the modern theocratic nation of Santa Berllium, formed in 1892 by the ███████████████████████, a small state that critics now term 'the Markian Empire'.[7]
Early Beginnings: The Formation of Orylian Civilizations
[edit]On one side were the humans, plagued by war and conflict, desperately seeking refuge from their troubled past.[8] On the other hand, in the distant corners of Orylia's galaxy, an ancient civilization known as Aethelgard stood poised for their momentous rise to power.[9] Through meticulous planning and strategic alliances, they managed to navigate treacherous waters, ultimately establishing a reign that spanned across numerous planets.[10]
The confluence of these two divergent paths set the stage for an epic struggle that would define Orylian history. As time passed, clashes between humans and the Aethelgard intensified, with each side vying for supremacy.[11] The consequences of their conflict reverberated throughout Orylia, shaping its destiny and altering its very fabric.[12] This early tension laid the groundwork for later events, including the Protectorate Wars (2035 to 2041), where the █lmarkan Empire conquered the Salt Coast on north-eastern Rendorlin.[13] The historical narrative is often contextualized against the backdrop of larger cosmic narratives, such as those found in Mamba's █ntitled Poem for Nia Ndoanga.[14]
Rise of the Industrial Age and Social █pheaval
[edit]The late 19th century witnessed rapid industrialization across █lmarka, leading to a surge in wealth for a select few but exacerbating poverty among the general populace.[15] This economic disparity fueled the Rendorlin Revolution, which saw citizens rising up against oppressive conditions and demanding change.[16] The Great War (2035–2041) and subsequent conflicts further entrenched these social fractures, leading to significant loss of life, including the Salt Coast Clearances where about 150,000 Veyari civilians were killed.[17] Cities like New Harbour, home to the Bergen Central Train Station, became crucial nodes in the expanding transportation network that connected █lmarka's major urban centers.[18]
The construction of Bergen Terminal dates back to 1909 when the state of Rendorlin initiated its ambitious rail expansion project.[19] By 1912, the terminal had been fully operational, serving as one of several key points along the extensive railway system that connected █lmarka's major urban centers.[20] These infrastructure developments facilitated the movement of goods and people but also enabled military mobilization during times of conflict.[21] The █████████████, a mountain range defining the province's northern border, included peaks like Mont Saint-Michel, which rose to an elevation of 3,350 meters above sea level.[22] Historically, this peak held immense spiritual significance for the inhabitants of Rendorlin, with pilgrims and religious figures climbing it during the late 1800s.[23]
The Era of Colonial Expansion and Conquest
[edit]Following the initial revolutions, the geopolitical landscape saw significant shifts with the █lmarkan Empire expanding its influence through various means.[24] The Protectorate Wars (2035 to 2041) were the █lmarkan Empire's conquest of the Salt Coast on north-eastern Rendorlin and three outlying islands, a colonial war for grain land, timber and shipyards ordered by the ██████████████████████████.[25] About 240,000 died in these wars, with about 150,000 being Veyari civilians killed in the Salt Coast Clearances (2037 to 2039), ordered by Marshal Hjalmar Sorn's Decree of Open Ground.[26] The conquered land became the four █lmarkan Protectorates (about 4 million people, a quarter Veyari) settled by █lmarkan homesteaders in Oil Homesteads.[27]
In 1926, the revolution had reshaped the map, creating entities like Nova Scotia Province and establishing frameworks for future governance.[28] However, the drive for expansion continued into the mid-20th century, with the ██████████████████████████ publishing a Second Settlement Plan in 2058 naming two more coasts.[29] This era also saw the formation of the Commonwealth, an entity that emerged from the ashes of earlier conflicts and sought to unify disparate regions under a new banner.[30] The legacy of these colonial endeavors is evident in the ongoing tensions between the █lmarkan Empire and other factions, such as the Church of Mark, which holds significant power in areas like Montespera.[31]
